Oh, come on people!

I haven't really spent time here in over a week.

Wow.  I had to refresh my screen and then rub my eyes to believe it, but while the rest of the country has already moved on, the die hards here press on with the nomination fight.  Even Hillary Clinton has pretty much moved on and is running a token campaign to position herself for another day.

The sun will come up tomorrow.  And Obama will be president come next January.

And it'll be the first presidential election in my adult life in which there is not either a Bush or a Clinton on the ticket.  That's a good thing for democracy.

I see that womens' professional wardrobe is a joke... I guess she should wear ball gowns instead.

No misogyny here at all.

Re: Oh, come on people! (2.00 / 3)

Your power to speak for the rest of the country especially those in Kentucky and Oregon who are going to be going out to vote on Tuesday and your ability to see into the future as far as Jan next year is not at all surprising.

Maybe you should continue rubbing your eyes .

Re: Oh, come on people! (none / 0)

With all do respect to Dems in Kentucky and Oregon, their votes are unlikely to change the outcome of this race.

Not unlikely.  They won't.  Period.  It's over.

You know, he may not have said it well but . . . (2.00 / 4)

he's right. The rest of the country is moving on. This site has become a backwater for hardcore supporters who can't see the writing on the wall.

so then... (none / 0)

sincere question:  then why are you and he still coming here?  if as you say its over.  you can go and celebrate unabated on a large variety of other sites yet you choose to come here knowing that there are a large group of HRC supporters here.  hmmm....

So sue me . . . (none / 0)

I find it entertaining. The fact is there are also some very thoughtful, independent minded people on this site. They are not all Hillary die-hards, although they are certainly over-represented.

One more thing . . . (none / 0)

you're not suggesting, are you, that I should leave the site because I disagree with you?

Re: so then... (none / 0)

Well, my reason for coming isn't to spar with the die-hard Clinton supporters who can't read the writing on the wall (though I end up doing that more than I like.) It's because I'm waiting for the critical mass here to shift to a more meaningful discussion: how we beat McCain in November.

Fortunately, it seems like the HRC-focused backwater is being drained with every superdelegate who comes forward for Obama, and we're well on the way toward making MyDD relevant again.

Re: so then... (none / 0)

I figure at some point there will be a critical mass of common sense which brings the blog back to it's roots.

Re: Oh, come on people! (2.00 / 2)

Heh, totally classless to suggest that a Clinton loss is some sort of victory for democracy.  Is it really that hard just to be happy?

Re: Oh, come on people! (none / 0)

Not a Clinton loss per se, but a nomination not decided by party elites.

Re: Oh, come on people! (2.00 / 1)

but alas dear drummond - either candidate who wins will be decided by the party elite.
